The entire anime fandom has had a hawk eye over the progressing exhilaration with every new episode release of Jujutsu Kaisen. Certainly, the tumultuous turbulence stepped out of the threshold of our anticipations in the 6th episode of its second season. The onset of season two heralds the sixth arc of the Manga series known as the Shibuya Incident arc. Recap
The episode opens up with an entirely different soundtrack, almost forcing the viewers’ goosebumps to reciprocate with a standing ovation literally setting up the ground for the commencement of the sixth— Shibuya Incident arc. After a ferocious encounter, we see Yuji, Fushiguro, and Nobara perplexed about their next adventures to which the ever-energetic Nobara announces her shopping spree. The mere thought of it exhausts Fushiguro. Yuji however is in a leisurely mood deciding to watch a movie while also inviting Nobara to join him. She interrogates him about the movie and thus he reveals the name “Human Earthworm 4”. We see a very flummoxed Nobara countering Yuji with an excuse that she has not even a minuscule knowledge about its other three parts. We observe an elated Yuji giving her a brief gist of the movie.
the plot of “Human Earthworm 4” – Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 6
Yuji speaks of the movie at length. It is a tale of a deranged scientist who for his whims and mania turns a man into a human earthworm. The human earthworm is despised and faces utter hostility until he bumps into a woman fervent about human anatomy. This rendezvous turns into a sweet camaraderie, and gradually into love. It is doomed when the woman’s friends kill the man only to leave behind many newborn fetuses. Nobara is uninterested in this plot and nonchalantly declines Yuji’s offer leaving him disappointed.
We are teleported to another scene where Mei Mei and Ao are conversing with Yoshinobu about Maki, Panda, Megumi, Nobara, and Yuji. They are discussing the promotion of the ranks of these five to Grade 1 sorcerers. However, for this upgrade, they all must succeed. Aoi believes Yuji has the potential if not spoiled by Sukuna. The entire conversation is portrayed over an intense match of table tennis between the two, personifying the tension between them. Next up we see a strange girl approaching Nobara with her whereabouts regarding Yuji.
a love interest?
Yuko Ozawa, Yuji’s highs chool acquaintance flashes their picture together from their school graduation party. Nobara is visibly astonished at the girl’s massive transformation. They further talk about Yuji and Nobara suspects Yuko’s secret feelings about him. Nobara calls Mr. Ijichi asking about Megumi since he was the best person to fill them up with Yuji’s romantic interests.
Megumi arrives and assures the girls about Yuji being single and they further discuss his love interests. Yuko delves into a flashback eavesdropping Yuji telling other boys that she would be the right choice as his girlfriend. Yuji too arrives and joins the trio. Everybody is emancipated that he might not be able to recognize Yuko but he does clearly. After catching up, Yuko finally departs elsewhere. Yuji and Megumi chit chat while Nobara swears to find a boyfriend before Yuji commits to Yuko as it would be way too upsetting for her.
The intense ending
Next up we see Utahime lost in her muddling thoughts as Yuji, Nobara and Megumi arrive to converse with her about a suspected traitor located at Kyoto School. Before she divulges his name, there’s a changeover to Kasumi demanding reports from Mechamaru as the deadline verges on. Utahime escorts the trio to the basement of Kyoto School in order to have a word with Kokichi Muta (Mechamaru’s real body). However, the trip takes an inevitable turn as they reach a dead end. Meanwhile, we see a tussle between Getou, Mahito and Kokichi. To which further Kokichi vows to apprise Satoru about the Shibuya plan in order to establish protective armor. But he plans to tackle Mahito first before making a succession in his plot. Finally the episode seals in a cliffhanger as Kokichi fires his Ultra Cannon at Mahito.
Overall review of Episode 6 Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen
As the new season unpacks with several exciting elements one can sense the skyrocketing spirits of the anime fans stronger than ever. After a short breach from the series, everybody has once again their eyes fixated on the further escapades of the protagonists accompanied by light humor and hysteria. The entire episode could be bifurcated into two parts. The beginning is a fun respite showcasing the daily lives of youthful characters. However the story topples completely in another interval and cascades strong knowledge about what awaits us next. The animation was as always supremely sublime, shaking the tectonic plates of the viewer’s visual peripheries while the new opening song caught attention without letting it go for a while. Now the audience hopes for Mahito’s defeat and Kokochi to pour the truth into Satoru successfully.
