Demon Slayer: Mugen Train Arc episode 7 recap
Episode 7 starts with where we concluded the last episode. With Kyojuro Rengoku having been dealt a stern blow from his formidable enemy, Akaza.
Bleeding copiously, Akaza, Rengoku, and our two viewers Tanjiro and Inosuke rapidly realized that this Flame Hashira’s termination was near. They warn Akaza to beg for Rengoku to leave his human body. They want him to transform into a demon so that he can heal one-hundred times over.
Trapping Akaza’s hand in his injured body as the sun rose was Rengoku’s last-ditch struggle. He did so to protect his fellow demon slayers from this blood-thirsty enemy.
Desperate, Akaza broke his arms away from the body of Rengoku. He then made a run for it but Tanjiro launched his sword, in time, into the demon’s body. While doing so he screamed, “Don’t run away! The Demon Slayers are always fighting your demons in the dark of the night where you have the advantage! You’re the one who lost! It’s Rengoku who won!”
Ending of Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 7
Not long, after his energetic declarations, Rengoku called Tanjiro close to tell him his final wishes.
First, he wants to read the letters left by the last Flame Hashira to check and find out if there is any data about Tanjiro’s father Hinokami Kagura dance. Second, he wants to visit Rengoku’s younger brother, Sanjuro, and tell him to follow the road that his heart desires.
As his final minutes approach, Rengoku sees a figment of his deceased mother. As she stands there in a glowing white light, he asks her if he has fulfilled his duties to protect the weak. She smiles and answers that he has made her proud. This made Rengoku bear his ultimate smile. Soon after, he passes away and joins his mother in the land of the dead.
In front of his dead body, Tanjiro mourned about his frustrations and how he wasn’t strong enough to protect everyone.
We conclude the episode with the news of Rengoku’s passing away being told to all of the Hashiras. While we have a look at each of their reactions, we can tell that this Flame Hashira’s death would alter the course of this story radically.
