If you want to be a victor in the battlefield, go on your knees. Call upon the God of all victories.
One of the victory quote from Battlefield
Battlefield 2042, EA’s upcoming first-person shooter; scheduled to release on October 22nd, 2021. Being the seventeenth installment in the Battlefield series and the sequel to 2018’s Battlefield V, the excitement is insane. It will be available for every gaming platform; PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and Series S. This will undoubtedly be a huge, near-future sandbox title. Developers are also hoping that this one would help players forget about Battlefield V.
Anyone who has been paying attention knows that Battlefield 2042 isn’t a surprise. A few leaks recently revealed the game’s idea and a few important features, but it’s all official today. This game takes place on a near-future planet devastated by climate-related disasters in the year 2042. These disasters have culminated themselves into the world’s biggest refugee crisis; ever to exist in all of History. Non-Patriated (or No-Pats) is the name given to displaced people. Along with No-Pats, soldiers are also recruited to fight in a worldwide war conducted by the United States and Russia. They will be battling over territory all across the world as well as in vital military installations.
Without further ado, let’s get down to business with the game. In this post, we’ll attempt to cover all of the key points, so take a cup of coffee and read on.
The paramount aspects of Battlefield 2042
The reveal trailer
The unveiling of Battlefield 2042 has literally sparked a storm. The internet exploded as the reveal trailer dropped in a spectacular five-minute rollercoaster of action. At the time of writing, the video had over 18 million views on YouTube and was trending across all social media platforms. This trailer does not disclose anything about the game in terms of gameplay and mechanics. However, this game seems to employ cutting-edge frostbite technology. This game was in development for three years, and it is undoubtedly going to be the biggest Battlefield game ever. There have also been technological improvements, such as the implementation of a new physics system.
Is there any single-player mode?
The answer is a resounding no, which is distressing for many gamers but ultimately unavoidable. EA and DICE have announced that Battlefield 2042 will not have a story-based campaign. However, certain story aspects will be present in the multiplayer section of the game. The major focus is on an all-out war with the flagship game modes. Since it will be accessible on all gaming platforms, there is no solid word on cross play; whether last-gen and next-gen consoles will be able to team up.
Battlefield 2042 features a plethora of brand-new contemporary weaponry, vehicles, gadgets, and gear. Weaponry such as the M-13, MP7, Vector, and others will be there; the weapons will not be too futuristic. A new plus system for firearms has been implemented. This allows you to switch accessories, like sights, barrels, and ammunition, while in the heat of combat. This will allow players to adapt in warfare, either in the vast open or in a tight space. If you don’t constantly want to get headshot by actual online gamers, solo/co-op gaming vs. AI bots can be recommended.
Game modes
The classic sandbox combat of Battlefield is back and better than ever. Take on redesigned fan-favorite modes, discover new inventive experiences, and see an unparalleled size that brings a new dimension to multiplayer combat. Battlefield 2042 has three main modes, they are:-
- All-Out Warfare – This mode combines Breakthrough and Conquest, two series staples. Breakthrough and Conquest are the next generation of fan favorites, featuring the biggest Battlefield maps yet and up to 128 players. 128 players are supported in all the gaming platforms except for PS4 and Xbox One; only 64 players are supported here. Conquest pits two teams against one another to acquire control points; once control points in a sector are secured, the team wins control of that sector. In Breakthrough, one side must attempt to take another team’s control locations while another defends them. Also, both modes allow you to play with and against artificial intelligence.
- Battlefield Portal – Change the laws of combat and uncover surprising conflicts in Battlefield’s vast world. Relive the recreated classics Battlefield 1942, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, and Battlefield 3 – or use the contemporary weaponry and content of Battlefield 2042 to deploy on these timeless maps. This mode allows users to build their own multiplayer modes and includes maps from previous Battlefield games. Using a web-based scripting program, players will be able to change fundamental gameplay features such as health, weapon load-outs, and mobility. In short, it is a player-driven sandbox.
- Hazard Zone – A brand-new high-stakes, squad-based game type that offers a fresh twist on the multiplayer experience. Hazard Zone is unmistakably Battlefield, although it differs significantly from the modes of All-Out Warfare. This mode is basically cooperative multiplayer mode.
Battle Royale mode?
One question may pop in your gray matter: Will there be no Battle Royale? The answer to this question is also a no. DICE has announced during the launch itself, that Battlefield 2042 will not have a Battle Royale mode. The good news is that this mode will be introduced to the game as time progresses.
How many maps will be present?
There are going to be seven maps that will be available in the game. They are:-
- Breakaway – Set in Antarctica’s Queen Maud Land. Struggle for oil and gas drives troops to the breaking point as an industry conflict with nature, and ice melts.
- Discarded – Alang, India is the setting. Shipbreakers face tidal extremes as groups battle to secure renegade nuclear assets.
- Hourglass – Doha, Qatar is the setting. A city core is ripped apart by shifting dunes and a missing cargo caravan.
- Kaleidoscope – Set in the South Korean town of Songdo. After an attack threatens the global network, forces here will battle for control of a quantum-powered misinformation hub.
- Manifest – Set on Singapore’s Brani Island. As global commerce chokes this important American supply chain, players will witness a geopolitical crisis arise.
- Orbital – The action takes place in Kourou, French Guiana. The conflict here is over a rocket launch location; a contentious space launch becomes a race against the clock.
- Renewal – Set in the Eastern Desert in Egypt. In the Egyptian Desert, players will compete for a revolutionary agriculture technology center.
It may not sound like much, yet it has some of the largest Battlefield maps ever seen. There are dynamic weather-altering components; tornadoes that come unexpectedly or a sandstorm that tarnishes everyone’s vision. This can result in massive amounts of falling debris, also objects being tossed around. The maps include destruction aspects as well as evolution, which can modify the appearance of the maps. There are also interactive components on the map, like the ability to lower and raise bridges. Ziplines and cranes can be experimented with. If you play on an older system, you may anticipate a watered-down version of everything, including smaller toned-down maps.
