After a gap of 4 long years, Kobayashi is finally back with her gang of dragons for a second season of pure wholesomeness and incredulity on 7th July 2021. The story in the first season sets off when Miss Kobayashi rescues a dragon in the mountains and invites her home. Secretly an Otaku, Kobayashi leads a dull corporate life. But that changes forever as the dragon accepts her invitation and lands unannounced in front of her house. Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid Season-2 : Probable animation style
Kyoto Animation has been known to have taken creative freedom with the first season of Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon maid like it did with many of its other anime productions. The first anime season diverts subtly from what is in the manga, changing the chronological order of some events. The first anime season also introduced totally new episodes based on original stories. Yet the anime never failed to capture the essence of the slice of life that the manga is so full of with perfect use of background scores and animation enhancing the deep emotions that the characters feel.
Another thing Kyoto Animation did really well for the first season was the fight scenes. The fight scenes in comparison to the manga were much more intense in the anime. They portrayed perfectly the heaviness of the dragons’ bodies and the lag in their movements as they fought and the impact on their surroundings. This brought a sharp contrast to the too-sweet slice of life aspects of the anime and kept it fresh. We have already glimpsed a fight about to take place between Tohru and the new dragon in the anime trailer. So we can expect some good fighting animation from the new season as well.
Info revealed and things to look forward to
Season 1 of the anime has been covered till before chapter 30 of the manga. Yet much is unknown about the world of Kobayashi. Even less is known about the world of the dragons which Tohru and co. hails from. Manga readers have affirmed that many important story developments and events take place after chapter 30. So we can look forward to knowing more about the dragon world, its rules, and the background of our beloved dragons. Not even mentioning the casual everyday affairs of the anime characters which are so full of life and yet never fail to deliver heartwarming messages.
Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon maid season 2 will also be introducing a new dragon name Iluru. The anime trailer revealed Iluru to be particularly being hostile towards the human world. And it stands to see how the new dragon will adjust to the human world. How Kobayashi befriends her and will Iluru be finally able to trust humans is a question we can only answer after watching the anime when it airs.
Why should you watch Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid – Best aspects
The story of Kobayashi’s Dragon maid revolves around pretty simple themes wired up with the daily shenanigans of the dragons. The characters learned the importance of bonds with close ones and the impact of kindness on someone. They also learned to grow out of old shells for the sake of friends and important people, and the value of their smiles and happiness through their everyday interactions. As the characters grew and changed as a person they became so much more than just anime characters to us. And this makes the anime stand out from an ocean of slice-of-life anime.
The anime also merges supernatural elements with daily life elements flawlessly through a beautiful fluffy story. Not to mention the best part of the anime being the dragons themselves portrayed in an entirely untraditional form. First of all, the anime gives us a dragon maid(the great Tohru herself) and her apprentice Kanna(the goth loli dragon). We also get a nerdy dragon(Fafnir Sama) and the well-endowed Lucoa and Elma. Their unwitting shenanigans as they try to adjust to the human world are of as much a wonder to us as those are to them
So with the second season to be released just days later, it’s a good time to revisit one of the most heartwarming and cute anime. And if you haven’t picked up the anime yet, what are you waiting for!! Go for a Kobayashi’s Dragon maid marathon and prepare yourself for another season of silly yet feel-good adventure with the dragons and Kobayashi.
